In 2006, on the first evening of my Italy in January tour, I arrived quite frozen from my water taxi ride down the Grand Canal in Venice. I made my way in the dark (very dark) to the only open cafe I could find. It was cozy and, no-doubt, a favorite of the locals. The rosemary focaccia sandwich made for a tasty late-night treat with a glass of Valpolicella. An older local gentleman sauntered in with his scruffy light brown dog ¨Amadeus.¨ They were just out for a walk.
I have made a number of discoveries, and from time to time... I´ll write them down.
